Your BBQ and steak could give you cancer

We love BBQ, even the name of it put a smile on our face. As soon the weather changes we are tempted to gather our friends and families and do a BBQ. According to cancer.gov, studies in recent years has found that cooking muscle meat like chicken, lamb, fish etc over high heat produces carcinogens PAHs and HCAs that cause changes in DNA that may increase the risk of cancer.

This risk apply not only to BBQ but pan fried meat on very high heat. HCAs found in food are not significant other than meat cooked at high temperatures. PAHs can also be found in other charred foods, as well as in cigarette smoke and car exhaust fumes.
