We love rice specially Pulao and Biryani and we can’t resist it on the following day. Even if the Biryani is 2 days old sitting in the fridge we still want to save it for ourselves. It might taste too good even when its not fresh but wouldn’t it be awesome if we can re-heat it like it was fresh? That too with too little effort?
I like perfectly heated leftover Biryani, I have tried many ways, oven, toaster ovens, microwave ovens and Tawa (Griddle) but none of them worked the way this method did. My sister in law told me this awesome method that worked the best of all methods. All you need to have is one steel/metal strainer and a pot.
Place a pot on a stove, fill it with 1 or 2 glass water, enough water to produce steam but it shouldn’t be touching the strainer on top. Place a strainer on top of the pot also called “Channa” in Urdu. Put the heat to medium and when you start to see the steam, pour rice over the strainer and put the lid on it so the maximum steam stays in. After 5 minutes mix it and put the lid back on. It take roughly 5-15 minutes till the rice are perfectly warmed up however depends on the rice quantity, size of the pot and strainer so its better to keep checking it after few minutes till you get a better idea.

Thank you for posting this; it’s awesome & generous of you! I have been making biryani for years & have never successfully heated it up until now.
