Put 1 medium onion, 500g tomatoes, 4 green chillies in boiling water and boil for 5 minutes.
Strain the tomatoes etc from water, peel the tomato skin if you like.
Take a blender and blend it till it becomes paste
Put a whole chicken note weighing more than 1 kg into a pot with 1/2 cup cooking oil and fry.
Fry the chicken till it completely changes color, take it out and put aside.
In the same cooking oil add 1 tablespoon ginger paste and 1 tablespoon garlic paste and fry till it becomes golden brown
Add the tomato puree in it along with 1/4 teaspoon Haldi (Turmeric powder)
Cook it till the water evaporates and it leaves oil.
Add the chicken back in and mix well
Now add 250g or 1 cup yogurt along with salt in the chicken (I use pure rock salt hence the pink color)
Now mix it well and fry for few minutes, after that put the lid on
Cook on low flame till the chicken is all cooked. Now add 1 tablespoon ginger julienne , 1 green chilli, 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala (All spice powder), 1-1/2 teaspoon crushed black pepper and put it on dam.
After few minutes turn the stove off and mix the chicken well.
Kaali Mirch ki Chicken Handi is ready 🙂
