French Breakfast Casserole is like bread pudding that is very tasty and easy to make. You can eat it warm with tea or as it is and if you like chocolate add some Nutella, melted chocolate or Ganache on top for richer chocolaty taste.
Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
Lightly butter an 8×8 inch baking pan.
Line bottom of pan with bread cubes.
In a large bowl, beat together 4 eggs, 1 1/2 cups fresh milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Pour egg mixture over bread. Dot with margarine; let stand for 10 minutes.
Combine remaining 2 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle over the top.
Bake in preheated oven about 45 to 50 minutes, until top is golden.
Top with warm chocolate ganache or Nutella for richer taste.
